Important Steps in Designing Informational Graphics

Make another list of 4 to 5 steps that would be important in designing your own informational graphics.
Add these lists as text posts to your blog.

The following are steps that will be important in designing my own informational graphic:

  • Research: understanding of the knowledge I want to convey
  • Sketches: drawing out idea possibilities
  • Selection: selecting the idea which most effectively communicates information
  • Designing: create illustrations & clear design
  • Revision: make edits/adjustments  based on the feedback of viewers

La Mode, Cover

I decided to draw more inspiration from the New Yorker, and let the illustration be the predominant element on the cover. I left out captions & teasers on the front cover, so the illustration can draw in the viewers.

Magazine (Cover) Inspiration

Magazine Cover Inspiration: Creative NonFiction  Magazine.

I chose this cover design because I like the relationship between the typography and the illustrative photograph. The overlapping creates dimension that I would like to replicate in my own magazine design.

Mock Magazine, Masthead Proofs

"La Mode", French for "The Fashion"
I chose this title for my mock Fashion magazine

These are my hand drawn & digital proofs for the Magazine masthead
